Chunky Monkey Advertising Creative Director is Tania Ortega-Cowan. Tania was born in Cape Canaveral during the space race and grew up in Vero Beach. She graduated from Saint Edward’s School and earned a degree in Broadcast Journalism from The Florida State University where she also studied theatre, dance and music. She opened her first advertising and design company at age 25 with a client list that included Disney Vacation Club and Piper Aircraft. In 2005 she launched her second agency, Chunky Monkey Advertising Inc., where she continues to be President and Creative Director, and is a graphic designer, writer, and photographer. She was the Indian River County Correspondent and Columnist for TCPalm's Luminaries for 11 years and now is a special assignments writer/photographer for TCPalm/Press Journal/Newsweekly (Gannett). She has extensive experience shadowing law enforcement and emergency services personnel on real calls and then she blogs about it at www.ChunkyChat.com. In 2013, Tania was an embedded journalist with the Indian River County Fire Rescue over the course of 4 months and published the experience in the book "My Adventures with Indian River County Fire Rescue." Tania is the daughter of Vero Beach Opera's Artistic Director Román Ortega-Cowan and President Dr. Joan Ortega-Cowan, and she grew up performing as a result. As a teen she was immersed in musical theatre at Riverside Children’s Theatre and Riverside Theatre. Favorite roles include Audrey in Little Shop of Horror, Winnifred in Once Upon a Mattress and Mary Magdelene in Jesus Christ Superstar. Later she developed a love of singing jazz singing listening to Diane Schurr, Ella Fitzgerald and Billie Holiday. She also loves to sing sacred music, and has sung a church service somewhere in Vero Beach nearly every Sunday for the past 25 years.
